One new lesson a day is free. A subscription opens every lesson; Apple or Google bill it, it renews until you cancel, and you cancel in your store account.
1Who offers the app
These terms apply to the app ÜberDeutsche on iPhone and Android ("the app"). "We" and "us" mean UberTuga, named above.
2The app
ÜberDeutsche is a German course from level A1 to A2, told through the life and words of Friedrich Nietzsche. The films, talks and letters are written after his life and his real letters; they are not historical documents. The sentences quoted as his are his own words, with their source.
3Free use
- Without a subscription you can start one new lesson each calendar day. You can open it again on the same day.
- The lessons you have done, and the Üben deck, stay open.
- Free use needs no account and no payment.
4The subscription
- A subscription opens every lesson at once. It is offered monthly or yearly; the app shows the price and the period before you buy.
- You buy it from Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), under their terms. They charge the payment to your Apple or Google account.
- It renews automatically for the same period, at the price then in force, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- To cancel or manage it: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play → your profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions. The app's Ich tab leads there too. After you cancel, the lessons stay open until the paid period ends.
- Refunds, and the right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU, are handled by Apple or Google under their terms.
- Codes: a promotional code is redeemed with Apple or Google and may start the subscription with a free period. Unless you cancel, the subscription then continues at the normal price.
- On a new phone, or after reinstalling, „Käufe wiederherstellen“ on the subscription page restores a subscription bought with the same Apple or Google account.
5Your progress
Your progress is kept only on your phone. If you delete the app or change phones, it is gone, and we cannot restore it. A subscription is not lost this way; see „Käufe wiederherstellen“ above.
6Rights in the content
The app, its texts, films, voices and design are protected by copyright. You may use them for your own learning; you may not copy, sell or publish them. Nietzsche's own works are in the public domain. The pictures and recordings by others are named in the app under Nachweise with their licences; where a licence allows more, it applies to that work.
7Liability
We do our best for the app to work and its content to be right, but we cannot promise that it is free of errors or always available.
We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and where mandatory law, such as product liability law, says so. For slight negligence we are liable only when an obligation essential to the contract is breached, and then only for the damage typical of this kind of contract and foreseeable when it was made. Beyond this, our liability is excluded as far as the law allows.
8Apple and Google
If you got the app from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies as well. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or its content, and do not provide support for it; write to us.
9Changes and law
If these terms change, the new version appears on this page with its date. A change to the subscription terms applies from your next period, and you can cancel before then.
The law of Portugal applies. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection of the country where you live still applies to you.
